Community members are invited to give back alongside the City’s Ranger Service by helping lay mulch around oak and lemon trees to support tree health and improve water retention as we head into the drier season. Orientation and all necessary tools will be provided.
This hands-on volunteer opportunity is a simple yet meaningful way to care for local natural spaces and make a visible difference in the community. This is a straightforward, beginner-friendly activity suitable for most volunteers*. Groups and families are welcome. Volunteers ages 16–17 may participate without a legal guardian present, provided both the minor and guardian complete required waivers.
All volunteers must register on Engage SLO and complete the digital Volunteer Waiver. Registered volunteers will receive additional event details from the Volunteer Program via email the week prior to the service day including where to meet, what to wear, what to bring, and other important information.
Questions? Contact the Volunteer Program at [email protected] or 805-858-0771 (call or text Monday–Friday).
